As clearly seen in the pictures some lume is missing from the hour hand. The bezel ratchets counterclockwise and the bakelite insert shows cracks and considerable wear. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS STEEL WATERRESISTANT SHOCKRESISTANT QUARTZ SWISS MADE" with "30 ATM, "18202" and "3-81140 stamped in the center.
The crystal needs to be replaced. The 6 jewels unadjusted Swiss quartz movement with quickset date function does not run after a new battery was installed (which has since been removed). The quickset function works flawlessly by unscrewing the crown, pulling it out to the first position and then turning it counterclockwise until the desired date has been reached. The screwdown crown unscrews and screws back down perfectly as it should and the time can be set without issue. This watch measures approximately 28 mm excluding the crown, approximately 32 mm including the crown and approximately 14 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. The crystal adds no measurable thickness. This watch comes on its original JB Champion stainless steel bracelet with Chronosport-emblem stamped clasp that shows moderate wear and stretch. The clasp snaps tightly shut. It likely won't comfortably accommodate a wrist larger than 6 inches. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any restoration costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 19 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
