At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This vintage 1970's exotic Zodiac Sea Wolf, seldom seen in this configuration, has an originally black "SWISS T 25" signed dial that has aged naturally over time to a truly special, near pristine uniform tropical milk chocolate brown.
In my humble opinion the dial is as nice as any I've seen. Because the stem/crown is missing the dial will rotate. The lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. Please note that because the seconds hand is dislodged and moving around it's possible that the lume, on both of dial and hands, will become damaged. The light bluish gray and orange accented acrylic bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents beautifully.
The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped "ZODIAC SEAWOLF WATER-TESTED 20 ATM ESPECIALLY" with "Zodiac Ltd" followed by "Le Locle Swiss, ""ACIER, ""INOXYDABLE" and "722 - 946 B" stamped on the inside of the case back. Between the lugs at 6 o'clock are the stamped numbers 2076802. The crystal shows scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss ZODIAC LTD.Stamped Zodiac 72B automatic movement does not run as the stem/crown is missing. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the tube and approximately 17.75 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel is approximately 8 mm.
Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10 mm. Given that the stem/crown is missing and the seconds hand is dislodged at a minimum a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 23 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
