FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The manual wind movement tends to run for only several seconds to several minutes at a time. On occasion it'll run for several hours, keeping relatively accurate time.

What makes this vintage 1960's Wyler Life-Guard special is its uniquely aged'SWISS' only signed dial which has developed a creme brulee patina. In my humble opinion it presents beautifully and looks markedly better in person. The lume, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a warm buttermilk hue on the dial with the hands having aged to a pistachio hue.

This contrast in lume was commonly seen during the era. The all stainless steel monocoque case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation. The crystal should be replaced as it shows scratching and microfractures. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the manual wind movement in this watch can only be accessed through the crystal. While the movement runs it tends to run for only several seconds to several minutes at a time. The signed, non-screwdown crown winds smoothly and the time can be set without issue. Given that the movement does not run as it should a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38 mm including the crown and approximately 17.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 6.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 9.5 mm. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.

Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now.
