FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The manual wind movement runs but the hands need to be realigned as the hour hand cannot be set to the precise time. Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This vintage 1970's Westclox World Time diver has a glossy black "FRANCE" only signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows light wear.

The original lume, which remains fully intact, emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light. The dual bezels, which show wear and rotate bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, present nicely. The chrome-plated case shows honest wear with signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped STAINLESS STEEL BACK WATERPROOF TESTED 330 FEET. The original case back sticker remains intact.

While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back is torqued too tight for me to remove. The 17 jewels manual wind movement runs but the hands need to be realigned as the hour hand cannot be set to the precise time. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 33 full revolutions the minute hand kept accurate time over an approximate 35 hour power reserve period.

Given that the hands need to be realigned and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19.75 mm between the lugs.

Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. This watch comes on a seldom seen 19 mm curved lug ends "IRELAND" stamped with signature "ACIER SWISS MADE" stamped band.

It is fully pliable with no cracks/rips. The long end measures approximately 119 mm with the short end, excluding the buckle, measuring approximately 77 mm.

Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now.
