This is a complete restoration project. This seldom seen vintage 1970's Scubapro 200 has a black "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial that under the damaged crystal looks to be in lovely condition. The original lume, which in my humble opinion is the highlight of this watch, emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light and has aged gracefully to a golden buttermilk hue. The black bezel, which shows wear and rotates stiffly unidirectionally counterclockwise, presents nicely. The beautifully cut Monnin all stainless steel PVD coated case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation.
However, there is some kind of sticky residue on both the topside and underside of the crown guards. It looks like this sticky residue may be coming from the underbelly of the bezel. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE WATERRESISTANT 200 M / 600 FT" with "87147" followed by "SCUBAPRO, ""WORLDWIDE" and "488" stamped in the center.
The inside of the case back is stamped "BREVET + 503305" followed by M. SA, SWITZERLAND, SCUBAPRO, SWISS MADE" and "7426.
The damaged and hazed crystal needs to be replaced. The original 7 jewels unadjusted Swiss "SCUBAPRO" stamped ESA Y2 900231 quartz movement does not run and will likely need to be replaced. And while the pusher at 8 o'clock presses in and depresses without issue the pusher at 4 o'clock is frozen. Additionally, as clearly seen in the pictures the crown is missing. This watch measures approximately 40 mm excluding the crown guards, approximately 44 mm including the crown guards and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10 mm. Given that the movement does not run and likely needs to be replaced a complete restoration is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 16 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
