Vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual 1003 Automatic Watch for Parts or Repairs

Up for your consideration is a non-working Genuine Rolex Oyster Perpetual 1003. The watch overall is in good condition and has been polished by the previous owner. During the course of its life, it was running and keeping excellent time. Unfortunately, a broken hair spring stud broke off and caused the watch to stop - therefore, this watch is up for sale as a NON-WORKING watch that can be repaired or used for parts. It needs a new balance wheel attached to the balance cock for it to operate. The case is a 34mm case, in excellent condition and has been polished as stated. Although 34mm, it wears like a 36mm due to its Oyster case.

Bracelet is a genuine 78350 with 557 endlinks. On the clasp, it marks 78350 VE. Sized for a 6.5 wrist and one extra screw link with be included. The serial number begins with 6, which dates it back to roughly 1980. Serial # documentations will also be included with the sale.

There are some marks on the dial that are difficult to capture. It can be seen at certain angles under certain lighting conditions but it appears to be a sweep mark roughly from 7-9 o clock.

The movement is a caliber 1570 with a new main spring/barrel, a new second train wheel. Unfortunately, the hair spring on the balance wheel was damaged, hence why it is not working. Timing setting and winding are functioning well and smooth. The balance wheel cock and damaged hair spring with balance wheel will be included. This watch can be repaired by an experienced watchsmith or could be used to part out.
