Under the damaged crystal the smoky black "SWISS MADE" signed dial is in pristine condition, free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The vibrant orange seconds hand gives this watch a wonderful energy. The black bezel, which rotates bidirectionally, presents nicely.

The heavy duty all stainless steel case, which appears to have retained its original finish, shows minor wear with no signs of oxidation. The case back is stamped "STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE 100% TESTED WATERRESISTANT INCABLOC ANTIMAGNETIC" with 666 FT.

While I normally show pictures of the movement of watches that I put up for sale, the case back on this one is torqued too tight for me to do so. Having owned several examples of this particular reference the movement is likely an AS 1906 automatic with quickset date function. Additionally, the crown unscrews when trying to move the hour hand counterclockwise.

It screws back on without issue and it screws down tight. When the crown is screwed on it winds smoothly.

Because the crown unscrews when moving the hands counterclockwise I'm unable to determine whether the quickset date function works. Given that the movement does not run, that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and required. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39 mm including the crown and approximately 19.5 mm between the lugs.

Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 12 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 14 mm.

Given that the movement does not run a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.
