After the top and bottom pushers are pressed in several seconds need to pass to allow for the pushers to slowly depress on their own. Or they can be given a helping hand by gently pulling them back out to their fully depressed state. Lastly, the bezel is missing. Given the issues mentioned and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is required. This seldom seen vintage 1970's Ollech and Wajs Selectron Computer two-register chronograph came from the estate of the original owner.
It has a matte black "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial with sunken silver subdials that is in pristine condition. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow on the hands only , has aged beautifully. It's not uncommon for the tritium on the dial and hands to age differently. In my humble opinion the contrast looks great. The slide rule bezel is missing. The all stainless steel case shows moderate wear with no discernible signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERPROOF, ""ANTIMAGNETIC, ""INCABLOC, ""STAINLESS STEEL" and "SWISS MADE" with "CHRONOGRAPHE" followed by "20 ATMOS" and "19569" stamped in the center. The domed, thick crystal, which I believe is original, shows scratching. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this one has likely never been removed and is torqued too tight for me to remove. The 17 jewels Valjoux 7733 manual wind movement runs strong and appears to keep accurate time with all chronograph functions working perfectly as they should. Having owned several examples of this particular reference over the years, some having the Landeron 248 movement with others having the Valjoux 7733 movement, it's easy to determine which movement is under the hood by how the chrono functions work. With the Valjoux movement the top pusher both starts and stops the sweep seconds hand while the bottom pusher resets it along with the minute register. With the Landeron movement the top pusher starts the sweep seconds hand while the bottom pusher stops and resets it along with the minute register. While the crown winds without issue, albeit a bit tightly, it won't pull out. Additionally, while all the chronograph functions work perfectly as they should the pushers are a bit gummy. After recently winding the crown 39 full revolutions the movement had a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 8.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 13.5 mm.
Although the movement runs strong and appears to keep accurate time and all the chronograph functions work perfectly as they should, the crown is stuck and won't pull out, the pushers are gummy and the bezel is missing. For these reasons and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.
And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully, which were taken in natural light and from various angles, as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
