FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The manual wind movement tends to run consistently. When it does it gains about 5 minutes by the end of its approximate 32 hour power reserve period. And when it doesn't it starts and stops and requires a gentle shake or spin of the watch face down to get jump-started.
The day wheel advances perfectly as it should. The bezel lock, which works by screwing down the top crown, needs to be screwed down tight otherwise the bezel will rotate. Given that the movement either runs consistently, albeit fast, or starts and stops and considering that it likely hasn't been serviced in several decades, if ever, a complete overhaul is required.
This seldom seen vintage 1970's Endura Perpetual Calendar has a pristine black "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial and t. He lume on the hands emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light. Any imperfections seen are on the damaged crystal. The black bezel, which shows wear, rotates smoothly bidirectionally when the top crown is unscrewed and'locks' when the top crown is screwed down tight. This bezel allows the date to be set.
The chrome-plated bezel shows significant wear, brassing and oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "BASE METAL BEZEL AND DATE INDICATOR - STAINLESS STEEL BACK - SWISS MADE" with "PERPETUAL CALENDAR" followed by PAT. PENDING stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped ENDURA TIME CORP. The crystal needs to be replaced.
The one jewel unadjusted Swiss ENDURA TIME CORP. When it doesn't it starts and stops and requires a gentle shake or spin of the watch face down to get jump-started.
After recently winding the bottom non-screwdown crown 35 full revolutions the movement gained about 5 minutes by the end of its approximate 32 hour power reserve period. The bottom crown winds buttery smooth. Given that the movement either runs consistently, but fast, or starts and stops and considering that it likely hasn't been serviced in several decades, if ever, a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm.Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. A complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.
For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
