This seldom seen vintage 1960's Dufonte Lucien Piccard has a satin silver "Ra SWITZERLAND Ra" that is in near pristine condition.

The original lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The midsize all stainless steel case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "STAINLESS STEEL DUFONTE by LUCIEN PICCARD SWISS MADE WATERPROOF INCABLOC" with "26477" stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped LUCIEN PICCARD WATCH CORP. The quickset date function works flawlessly by moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached.

After recently winding the original "LP" signed, non-screwdown crown 41 full revolutions the movement ran about 1.5 hours slow by the end of its approximate 43 hour power reserve period. Given that the movement runs slow, that the cannon pinion may need tightening and considering the movement's unknown service history (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement) a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 33 mm excluding the crown, approximately 35 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the fixed bezel, is approximately 4.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 7.5 mm.
