VINTAGE 31MM RARE MODEL J. WALTHAM TRENCH 7 JEWEL WRISTWATCH STERLING 1918 PRESENTATION ON THE BACK: PRESENTED TO R. KENNEY JAN 19,18 BY HIS FRIENDS.

INSIDE CASE BACK MARKED J. DEPOLLIER & SON STERLING 437308. MOVEMENT SERIAL NUMBER IS 20260295 THE SERIAL NUMER ---DATE LIST SAYS 1914 FOR THE MOVEMENT, --- HAVE NO ANSWER FOR THIS. NO CROWN AND NO STEM OR SLEEVE. THE BALANCE MOVES FREELY AND CERTAINLY NEEDS A CLEANING.

THE GLASS CRYSTAL IS A BEVELED CRYSTAL BUT IS LOOSE, THIS HAD A YELLOWED PLASTIC CRYSTAL IN IT ON RECEIPT, I HAVE RUN OUT OF MANY GLASS CRYSTALS BUT THIS IS CLOSE AND A NICE BEVEL SO GLUE IT IN. A NOTE: THE REASON MANY IF NOT MOST MILITARY WATCHES ARE 7 JEWELS IS DUE TO THEM RUNNING UNDER COLD CONDITIONS HOT CONDITIONS BETTER THAN A JEWELED MOVEMENT WHERE THE JEWEL SETTINGS ETC CRACK UNDER THE TEMPERATURE AND KNOCK ABOUT CONDITIONS. THE SAME APPLIES TO EXPLORERS WATCHES. SOME THINGS I START OFF CHEAP AND SOME THINGS I DONT, I SELDOM GET MORE THAN 1 OF THESE EVERY FEW YEARS.
