While the movement keeps accurate time and all chrono functions work as they should, the low power reserve indicates that a service is needed. This seldom seen oversized vintage 1950's Olympic two-register chronograph has a silver "SWISS MADE" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows some age-related wear. As seen in several of the pictures portions of the outer dial appear distorted given the contours of the crystal. In person the dial text/lines are crisp without any distortion. The original lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a toasted oatmeal hue.

The coated lugholes mid-case, which I believe is a base metal of some sort, likely brass, shows honest wear with no visibly noticeable signs of oxidation. The outside of the all stainless steel case back is stamped "1053" while the inside of the case back is stamped "FOND ACIER" followed by INOXYDABLE. The Landeron 51 manual wind movement is clean, keeps accurate time and all chrono functions work as they should with the pushers having a pleasant catch and release feel. While the sweep seconds hand and minute register hand tend to reset back to precisely zero occasionally they will reset a smidge to the left or right of the zero mark.

After recently winding the crown 15 full revolutions the movement had an approximate 12 hour power reserve period. Given the movement's unknown service history and low power reserve a service is needed. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs.

Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the fixed bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 12 mm. Although the movement runs and keeps accurate time with all chrono functions working as they should, the low power reserve period indicates that a service is needed. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully, which were taken in natural light and from various angles, as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
