Vintage 1.8 Mil Serial Zodiac Sea Wolf Divers Watch FOR PARTS OR RESTORATION

This watch is for parts or restoration as it does not run. This vintage Zodiac Sea Wolf came to me as pictured.

The dial is in poor condition and the hour hand is not original to this watch. The bakelite bezel is in decent condition but it does not stay affixed. The all stainless steel case is in wonderful condition showing minor wear. Please note that the smudging on the outside of the case back, specifically under the "SE" in SEAWOLF, above the "TED" in TESTED and under the "AT" in WATER was not noticed until after seeing the pictures and came off easily and without issue.

The case is free of any visibly significant dents or dings and shows no signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped "ZODIAC SEAWOLF WATER - RESISTANT 20 ATM - ESPECIALLY" along with the stamped Zodiac emblem. Between the lugs at 6 o'clock are the stamped numbers 1801641.

While there is dust/debris on the underbelly of the crystal it is otherwise in good condition. The case back on Seawolf's are notoriously difficult to remove and should be done by a skilled watchmaker familiar with how to do so in order to avoid causing damage. When I attempt to wind the damaged Zodiac stamped non-screwdown crown I'm only able to turn it a quarter revolution before it stops. Given that this watch does not run it should be used for parts or a complete restoration will be required. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38 mm including the crown and approximately 17.75 mm between the lugs.

Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the loose and not affixed bezel , is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 9.5 mm. This watch will need to be used for parts or it'll need a complete restoration. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.

For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
