Omega Seamaster F300 Tuning Fork Jumbo Ref. UPDATE: this watch has run and kept time consistently for a little over a week now. I still dont want to make any blanket gaurantees, but i currently see no issues. Up for sale is this gorgeous Seamaster with tuning fork movement. I do not know much about the watch other than it was the first Omega model to feature the tuning fork Caliber 1250 which was licensed from Bulova. This model is a quartz adaption of the popular automatic reference 166.028 or 168.022. Overall the model is in good shape and the case is in great shape for its age. It is not over polished and seems to have the correct lines and original finishing.
The watch even sports its original crystal, which is good shape with only a small blemish in the top right, and crown. Unfortunately, the caseback is closed tightly and I cannot open it as I recently damaged my caseback opener, but it is original and does look good with only minor scratching. The watch has run since it has been in my ownership, however it does occasionally stop.
It seems like whenever I shake it, it kicks back up and stays running for a little while. When it does run consistently, it seems to keep proper time.
However, it is currently running and the shimmery/linen white dial looks perfect. There does seem to be some black pieces of dust/debris stuck under the crystal and shift around when shaken, so I would recommend that the new owner consider getting the watch cleaned.
Overall, it is a nice original piece in good condition. However, you are getting a nice original, complete example that probably does not need too much to get it running well.
