1984 Swatch Vintage Watch GO-001 BREAKDANCE Not working Sold As-Is Collector's

For your consideration: One used, not working Gents Swatch Original watch, model GO-001 Breakdance. This watch was released exclusively in the United States in the Fall Winter of 1984. This watch has the production code number 5033-P and it means that this watch was made on Wednesday of the 3rd week of 1985, this watch is at least 30 years old and it is ready to be added to your collection! The Gents size watches were released starting in 1983 and quickly became very collectible watches. According to Swatch-Clopedia, In 1984 Andy warhol was contacted by Swatch to create an art watch for Swatch, Andy was very occupied and recommended Keith Haring, Keith submitted two designs, because these two designs were already in Keith's portfolio they were rejected. Swatch did keep his designs for the medals and the poster for the breakdance contest. The "Breakdance" watches were made by Schmidt Muller in the spirit of the poster.

In 1985 Keith designed another 3 watches for Swatch, all these 4 watches were only available in the USA. Only 9,999 watches were ever made of this model, the plastic that was used in the manufacture of these watches turned out to be very brittle, a lot of Breakdance watches have been destroyed by use and age, very few are left in good physical and working conditions. This is a Mens size Swatch (34mm case diameter, 9mm case thickness, 17mm strap, and uses a size 390 battery).

This watch has NO plastic storage case, and NO instructions. This watch has what appears to be the original strap, it is a bit hard, with no guarantee on how long it may last, good for display only. Please look at the 12 pictures provided they are an important part of this items description, see more details below. The watch case is orange color, solid plastic and it is in excellent conditions.

The face of the watch has a pink, yellow, green and white colors background. There are no markings for the Hours, and there are no markings for the minutes either. The Hours hand is green color, the Minutes hands is green color, this model doesn't have a Seconds hand function.

This is a used watch, it is NOT working at all, you will find wear marks on the watch body, the crystal was hand polished to almost perfection, there are no broken pieces, no missing parts in this watch. I was in the process of cleaning the battery compartment in this watch with a Qtip when all of a sudden the battery connector on the wall just disapeared inside the watch, the watch just died in my hands, a real bummer.
